Most dogs show off their special talents and skills to bring love and happiness to their owners. Their abilities can range from rolling on the floor, singing, and even helping their owners with house chores.
But the dog in this story has a very rare talent.
Ivy, a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd who lives in North Carolina, has a unique and impressive talent. The furry canine knows how to create modern paintings with colorful acrylic paints. Yes, she can create her own masterpiece.
Because of her skill, her owner sells them to help raise money for charities despite the coronavirus scare.
Would you believe that painting isn’t the only special skill she has? Lisa Kite, her owner who is a retired nurse, has taught this talented girl how to play Jenga, open and shut doors, and get her owner’s drinks from the fridge. What a multitalented dog!
Lisa shares that the good girl learned to paint after she made her a special paintbrush that she can easily grasp in her mouth. After a little practice, the pup has since then turned it into a new hobby which made her the painter that she is today.
Lisa adds that Ivy is very opinionated and does what she wants to do. Sometimes, Lisa suggests adding a little color to the painting. But Ivy, having a mind of her own, grabs a brush and goes crazy with it.
Lisa also adds that the dog has shown a strong attraction to the color blue. Since dogs are semi-color blind, they see the colors yellow, blue, and gray most clearly. It makes sense why she is drawn to blue, but she still works with other colors too.
Each painting takes around four weeks to complete. Once sold, it is all donated to charity.
You can watch the video below of how Ivy works hard on each piece she creates for charity.
