Up until now, this certain sweet stray dog had no one whom he can call a friend of his own. The world hasn’t seen his everyday struggles as a homeless dog. But now, he’s been honored as a hero, for an excellent reason.
On Monday, a man who went cycling in the mountains of Western Romania fell off his bike and broke his collarbone. The man could no longer be able to continue because of the injury. So, he was stranded on the trail as the night started to set in. And it put him at risk of exposure to the chilly alpine air.
However, he was lucky enough to have found an unlikely friend who protected him.
When the first responders from the county of Caras Severin arrived to help the cyclist, they found out that somebody had already gone there and beat them to it.
As translated by Romania-Insider, the officials said that the cyclist fell and was still laying on the road. Then came a dog from the woods and laid right beside the cyclist to give him warmth. They added that when they came, the dog never left the victim’s side and stayed there until the ambulance showed up.
It’s still unknown whether the dog had been there in the mountains since birth or been lately abandoned there. However, his compassion toward a stranger in need of help though says it all.
Or, as the officials had it, “Man’s best friend gives a lesson on ‘humanity.’”
The victim was eventually brought to safety. However, he was not the only one rescued from that certain misfortune.
The first responders provided shelter to the heroic dog, now recognized as Savior Dog, and disseminate his good deed on social media. In a few days, a family reached out to adopt him. From then on, the Savior Dog is showered with so much love.
Above all, a hero truly deserves so much more.
