Abby was the only female pup in a litter of nine. They were all homeless and were brought to a shelter. Since they were still very young, they needed special care, one that the local shelter could not provide. A non-profit organization learned about their situation so they came in and got them all.
They brought them to New York where they were brought to a woman named Milli. For years, Milli and her daughters have been taking in dogs to foster. They have fostered 26 dogs so far, and all of them have been adopted. Abby was the last to go.
Abby and his brothers stayed with Milli’s family and they took care of their special needs. Thankfully, they were all adopted. But Abby took a longer time before she found a forever home. Unfortunately, she contracted parvo and needed to get well first.
Milli and her daughters took turns watching over her. The dog had gone through a lot and they fought hard to let her survive. Slowly, she fully recovered. It was now time to find a family, and she did.
It is her background that got her into the perfect home.
Katarina and Robert finally decided that it was time to add a new dog to their growing family. They have a small son and a dog named Slade. When they started looking online for a new pup, they came across a post about Abby. They learned about her ordeals in life and fell instantly in love with her.
They could see that she was a fighter and they admired her for it. So they arranged a meet and greet.
Milli brought Abby to their house so that they could see if the dog was a good fit for them. They needed to see if Slade would like her. It was important that the two would get along. Their dog was going to be the deciding factor.
Abby was intimidated at first. But the bigger dog fell for her instantly. Slade wanted to play with her right away. But once she got settled in and felt comfortable about her surroundings, Abby started playing with him.
The two ran and jumped around and it seemed like they knew each other forever. And with that, the family adopted her that day. And to them, it was the best decision they ever made.
