A dog’s loyalty to its owner is immeasurable. They will be with you during your good and bad times; if given a choice, they will choose to be with them wherever they go. Some of them did act on this instance and followed them out of their house. A dog getting lost is a dangerous situation that usually doesn’t end happily, especially when the pup gets lost or stolen.
But for Sissy, a ten-year-old miniature Schnauzer, it turned out well for her, luckily. Sissy couldn’t wait to see her human after being in the hospital, so she went out herself and followed her to the hospital, which was nearly 20 blocks away from her home.
Her owner, Nancy Franck, is fighting cancer and is currently receives treatment at the Mercy Medical Center in Iowa.
She initially thought that her daughter, Sarah wood, snuck her in. But when Nancy asked her about it, she said she didn’t – and both of them were surprised after they realized that Sissy came to the hospital all by herself! She thought dogs could only find their way home; finding one’s owner the other way around, while more challenging, is not impossible.
Nevertheless, Nancy considers Sissy’s visit helpful that day.
Meanwhile, her husband, Dale, was panicking at home. He let her and their other dog, Barney, out so they could relieve themselves. To his shock, only Barney came back.
Thankfully, security personnel found Sissy and was reunited with her owner just a few minutes before they go home. Certainly, Sissy has made people worry so much, but now she is safe, and now she has a story to tell.
Karen Vander Sanden, a spokeswoman for Mercy Medical Center, says that they find the incident touching; she also added that the importance of family and friends (including pets) in a sick person’s healing process.
