Dogs are just like kids. They are capable of displaying emotions like sadness or happiness. And just like with kids, the adults can’t help but react with empathy when they see their pets are sad. People will do anything to cheer up their dogs and shower it with affection to make them feel better. For these reasons, an English bulldog from Atlanta in Georgia has gone viral.
Big Poppa, as he is called by his human Rashida Ellis, took the internet by storm after Ellis posted a photo of the adorable dog experiencing lockdown sadness. In the photo, the bulldog is looking down from their 6th-floor patio and trying to get the attention of the kids playing in the street. He was looking sad since he can’t seem to join the kids having fun outside.
According to Rashida, Big Poppa loves to play outside with people and other dogs. Hence, the cute puppy was looking so down. She said it started when the lockdown was implemented and made it impossible to meet anyone outside. Every day, the pup will try to catch people’s attention while looking down from the patio, but he’s been unsuccessful.
Rashida mentioned that ever since the lockdown started, the puppy became a little sluggish and slept the day away. She explained that this is very unusual for the usually excited and happy dog. His sadness was so evident in the dog’s face, and he was frowning when Ellis snapped the photo. And when she posted about Big Poppa on her social media accounts, people began showering the poor dog with love and adoration.
Everyone feels for the dog and what he’s going through. Even Game of Thrones actress, Maise Williams, wanted to give Big Poppa some love. People began sending comments of encouragement to the dog, and in just one day, the post went viral. Rashida’s tweet got more than 72k retweets and 6500k likes. In the end, Rashida assured everyone that Big Poppa is okay and that she did some activities with him to cheer him up.
