Human beings are not the only species that have been affected by the pandemic. Their four-legged furry companions are also suffering because of the situation. Most countries have advised their citizens to stay at home to observe social distancing, which means that pet dogs will also have to stay indoors. Dog owners simply can’t let their beloved canines go outdoors on their own.
Most of us gradually adjusted to the new quarantine norm, but our canine friends are still finding it hard to cope with this ongoing confinement. They desperately want to go out and smell the fresh air.
An Oregon resident, Diane Neffendorf, knows the hardships that dog owners are facing these days. Diane noticed that the dog owners who didn’t have a yard in their houses were finding it difficult to manage their canines. Not having a yard in the house meant that the owners couldn’t let their dogs go outdoors to play and run around. Diane came up with a solution for people who needed an open space for their canines to play.
Diane owned a farm, and she decided to convert a portion of the farmland into a dog-park. As it was important to make sure that the social distancing requirements were put in place, she reserved half an acre of the land only for the dogs to just go and play around.
Robin Brown, Diane’s neighborhood friend, was the first to visit the park with his dog named Gunnison. When Robin reached the park, he let Gunnison loose, and the dog was totally overjoyed to be there. Diane was glad to see that her idea was working. She started inviting more people to visit the park, and now the place has become a favorite spot for many dog owners.
